Terms of Service

1. Contact and scope

These terms are intended to apply to the Buddyvo mobile application and its related services. Questions may be sent to [email protected].

Legal review required: finalize the effective date, acceptance mechanism, owner notice details, and any mandatory pre-contract information.

2. Accounts and eligibility

Buddyvo accounts may use email and password, Sign in with Apple, or Google sign-in. Users are expected to provide accurate account and profile information, keep access credentials secure, and use only an account they are authorized to control.

You must be at least 18 years old to create a Buddyvo account or use the service. Buddyvo checks the date of birth supplied during onboarding to enforce this requirement. You must provide an accurate date of birth and must not attempt to bypass the age check.

3. What Buddyvo provides

Buddyvo provides sports-oriented profile discovery, likes and matching, direct messaging, sports clubs and events, trainer and buddy discovery, reviews, safety reporting, and notifications. Availability may depend on location, role, platform, permissions, configuration, and whether a feature has been enabled.

4. User conduct and safety

Buddyvo's current onboarding rules require truthful photos, age, biography, and other profile information; respectful treatment of other users; care when sharing personal information; and reporting unsafe or abusive behavior.

Users must not impersonate another person, harass or threaten others, upload content they do not have the right to use, misuse another person's personal information, submit unlawful or harmful content, interfere with service security, attempt unauthorized access, or use the service for fraud or abuse.

Buddyvo provides blocking and reporting tools. A report may include its reason and recent messages so that the reported interaction can be reviewed.

Legal review required: approve moderation standards, notice and appeal procedures, grounds for suspension or termination, and the process for legally required reports.

5. Matching, messaging, trainers, and buddies

Discovery, likes, matching, and messaging help users find and communicate with other users. A match, profile, message, review, or qualification image is information supplied through the service and is not by itself a guarantee of identity, qualification, conduct, availability, compatibility, or outcome.

Trainer and buddy features support profile discovery and communication. Users should use appropriate judgment and safety precautions before meeting or training with another person.

Legal review required: define the legal relationship between Buddyvo, trainers, buddies, and users; the extent of qualification checks; and health and safety responsibilities. No independent-contractor, agency, employment, or professional-services status is asserted in this draft.

6. Premium subscription

Buddyvo Premium currently offers three product benefits: see who liked you, unlimited swipes, and the ability to join unlimited sports clubs. The app uses the active entitlement verified by Buddyvo's server to decide whether Premium access is available.

On iOS, Premium is an auto-renewable subscription purchased through Apple. The price and billing period shown by the App Store at purchase apply. Payment is charged through the user's Apple account and the subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled through Apple's subscription settings under Apple's applicable rules. Buddyvo does not directly control an Apple account cancellation.

Deleting a Buddyvo account does not cancel an Apple subscription. A user must separately cancel the subscription through Apple. After account deletion, an old subscription is not automatically linked to a newly registered Buddyvo account.

Legal review required: finalize refund language, cooling-off or withdrawal rights, price-change notices, failed-payment behavior, restoration rules, and the allocation of support responsibilities between Buddyvo and Apple.

7. User content

Users can provide profile information, photos, messages, reviews, reports, certificate images, and other material. A user is responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to submit that material and for respecting the rights and privacy of others.

Buddyvo processes submitted content to display requested features, deliver messages, moderate images, investigate reports, and operate the service as described in the Privacy Policy.

Legal review required: define ownership, the limited licence needed for Buddyvo to host, display, moderate, and transmit user content, licence duration after deletion, takedown handling, and intellectual-property complaint procedures. No broader licence grant is created by this draft.

8. Account deletion

An authenticated user can request account deletion in the app after recent reauthentication. The process disables the account, removes direct identifiers and profile/product information, deletes active sessions and the active Premium entitlement, and queues stored profile and conversation media for asynchronous deletion.

The implementation uses a minimal pseudonymized tombstone instead of immediately removing every database row. Audit, subscription, transaction, review, support, deletion, and minimum conversation records may remain linked to the internal tombstone identifier for integrity and technical purposes. Historical payment or booking records created before those features were disabled for the MVP may also remain.

For messages sent by a deleted account, the sender is shown as “Deleted User” and message content may remain visible to the other participant for up to 90 days. After that period, user content is replaced with a placeholder while minimum ordering, timestamp, and reply information may remain. An active safety-report legal hold can defer automatic content removal. Chat media is removed through the asynchronous deletion process.

Deleted information may remain in backups during the applicable backup lifecycle. A restored backup must have available deletion and tombstone state reapplied before the service returns to normal use; a restore does not reinstate a deleted account.

The same sign-in identifier may later be used to register a new account with a new Buddyvo identifier. Previous account state, Premium access, and subscription linkage are not automatically restored.

Legal review required: approve the exact permitted retention purposes and periods, backup treatment, and any exceptions required by financial, consumer, safety, or other applicable law.

9. Intellectual property

Buddyvo's application code, branding, interface, and service materials may be protected by intellectual-property laws. This factual statement does not define the scope of a user licence or remedies.

Legal review required: finalize ownership notices, the user licence, permitted and prohibited technical use, feedback terms, trademark treatment, and infringement procedures.

10. Availability, disclaimers, and liability

Software, network, platform, third-party, automated-moderation, location, and user-interaction features can fail or be unavailable. The codebase alone cannot establish legally valid warranties, disclaimers, remedies, or limits of liability.

Legal review required: draft lawful and jurisdiction-appropriate service warranties, safety disclaimers, professional/medical disclaimers, remedy provisions, liability allocation, and limitations without excluding rights that cannot legally be excluded.

11. Governing law and disputes

Legal review required: no governing law, court, arbitration, mediation, complaint body, or dispute procedure is selected in this draft. These provisions must be chosen after reviewing the owner's location, target markets, platform rules, and mandatory consumer law.

12. Changes and contact

Legal review required: establish how users will be notified of material terms changes, when changes take effect, and whether renewed acceptance is required.
